GRAPHICS SPECIFICATIONS

Acceptable Programs

  • Adobe Illustrator(Preferred) & Photoshop up to CC 2018
  • InDesign up to CC 2018 (There may be a charge of $150/hr. for graphic setup/design if an acceptable exported file [.tiff, .pdf, .eps] is not included with the .indd file.) Please refrain from exporting files with crop marks, color bars, registration, etc.

Preferred File Formats

  • .ai, .pdf, .psd, .tiff, .eps
  • Please send layered files when possible along with ALL SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS for your trade show booth graphics: linked hi-res images, fonts, and low-res proof.
  • Logos, Text, and graphic elements (that can be) should be kept in vector format such as, Adobe Illustrator (.eps, .ai, .pdf).
  • Resolution: Save rasterized images at the appropriate resolution for final output size. Generally, wide format artwork should be a MINIMUM of 85 PPI (pixels per inch) and no greater than 150 PPI at final print size. Rule of thumb: the greater the intended viewing distance, the lower the resolution can be.

Bleed

  • Include 2 inches of bleed and inset 2 inches for content-safe area on all sides for graphics applications with custom-built displays. Structural dimensions may change slightly during production. Including this extra bleed and content-safe area helps prevent production delays.
  • If a template is provided, use the bleed and inset specifications in the template.

Sending Artwork and Trade Show Booth Graphics

  • Preferred Method - Artwork Submission: Max 2GB per upload

    Send files to support@gogopanels.com

This web upload feature requires a modern web browser (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Internet Explorer). Please make sure your browser software is up to date, otherwise, the upload may fail unexpectedly.
  • CD, DVD, USB/Flash Drive: Please provide printed reference for layout.
  • Online File Sharing Utilities: Hightail, Dropbox, Creative Cloud, WeTransfer, Google Drive and others will be accepted.
  • Email: Max 5MB. Send files to GOGO Panels at support@gogopanels.com

Color Matching

The Pantone+ Solid Coated Formula Guide is preferred. Use the appropriate swatch from the color books in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign. Keep in mind that many Pantone colors fall outside the gamut of most CMYK printers and cannot be reproduced precisely. Color matches are $55 for the first color and $30 for each additional color.

Cutting Vinyl/Screen Print

Files must be vector art, Illustrator (.ai, .pdf, & .eps) - NOT RASTER IMAGES or RASTER IMAGES PLACED IN ILLUSTRATOR

GRAPHICS SETUP TIPS

Keep in mind how you are using your graphic:

If your graphics are viewed from 6-10 feet on the Trade Show wall, image resolution clarity may not be as important as the clarity of your text. To test your graphic at a distance, size your graphic to actual print size at 85-150 PPI, then view at 100% on your monitor (Tip: show rulers in Adobe applications and adjust view size until the the rulers are displayed at true size). Stand at a distance that you feel may be similar to how your display may be commonly viewed at an event. If it meets your preferences and quality standards, it is ready to send to us.

* If the graphics you are designing are scaled down you will have to zoom in closer. ex. 1/2 scale view at 200% on your monitor, 1/4 scale view at 400%...

Why an image may not work:

An image can only be enlarged so much before it distorts or pixelates. There is no definitive guideline here because many variables contribute to why an image may not be suitable (Resolution, file size, dimension size, how file was created, etc). You will need to play with your graphics to determine what works for you and your design

Image Resolution: (PPI = Pixels Per Inch)

Image resolution should not exceed 150 PPI if you are setting up your image at full scale. The larger the image the less PPI you may need at full scale.

*If the image you are designing is scaled down, you will have to scale the PPI proportionately. Example: Artwork built at 50% scale should be double the desired full-sized print resolution.

Printing Rich Black

C0, M0, Y0, K100 is not the same as C100, M100, Y100, K100
The darkest black in any CMYK print condition will be C100, M100, Y100, K100

Packaging Files Before Sending/Uploading

  • Convert all artwork text to outlines, including any special characters/symbols like bullets, asteriks, etc. or include font files in your packaged archive
  • Package all linked/supporting files in a separate folder
  • Compress all files into a single .zip or Stuffit archive

* If your file exceeds 2GB (2048 MB), you will have to separate the files into 2 or more archive in order to use our web upload utility.

KEY POINTS FOR GRAPHIC FILE SETUP

  • All graphics need a minimum of 1-2" bleed (on all sides, in addition to what is specified on the template)
  • Art should not have Overprint Fills nor Overprint Strokes as those elements will NOT PRINT.
  • Please convert all text to outlines (paths).
  • Complex Art needs to include all "linked" images (tifs, jpgs, etc...) and sent separately not embedded.
  • Art needs to be scaled to correct size when sent to us, per template
  • Art needs to adhere to all size instructions (Finished/Bleed/Viewable/Safe Area)
  • Art needs to be in editable format (compatible w/ Adobe Illustrator) so slight adjustments can be made.

**GRAPHICS WARRANTY**

Our graphics are intended to be used for multiple trade shows, however, we are not able to provide a warranty on the graphics past the point of first receipt. This is due to our inability to ensure proper handling, packing, and shipping elements that may negatively impact the service life of the graphic applications. If you were not provided maintenance instructions to prolong the life of your applied graphics, please contact us at support¡gogopanels.com as soon as you receive your order.

Our maximum resolution for large format printing is 150 dpi. Our recommended minimum is 85 dpi.

The sheer number of files we receive coupled with the enormous size of the files we receive every day is simply too much for any network to handle and would require more bandwidth than is reasonable. This is why we only use the File Transfer utility mentioned above in emergency situations in which an overnight disk is not an option. Please contact your account rep if you find yourself in this situation.

Yes. You will receive pdf proofs that will be emailed to you by the artist assigned to your project when your layout is ready to print. We will not print your graphics until we have received approval from you via email or phone call. If you purchased a Print Proof, your account rep will send it to you personally.

A vector file is a digital image that is created using geometrical primitives such as points, lines, curves, and polygons, which are all based upon mathematical equations to represent an image. This type of file, being not based upon a finite number of pixels like a raster image, is resolution independent and is scalable to any size without loss of clarity. Common file extensions are .eps and .ai. Common design programs for working with vector files are Adobe Illustrator, Freehand and CorelDraw.

A raster file is a digital image created from a generally rectangular grid of pixels. Common file extensions are .tif, .psd, and .jpeg. There are many attributes that may define a raster graphic, such as color mode and bit depth; however the most important for our purposes are the relationship between the image's actual size in inches and the resolution of the image in dots per inch (dpi).

Our optimal printing resolution on an average is 100dpi. So, for your 24" wide x 36" high graphic to print with optimal clarity, your raster image should be 24" wide x 36" high at 100dpi.

Let’s say you have an image that is 8" wide x 12" high at 300 dpi. Will it work for printing a 24" wide x 36" high graphic? Sure, because the file's resolution or dpi is 3 times larger than our printing resolution. This will allow us to use these extra pixels to scale the image up to 3 times its size, which will in turn resample the images resolution to our recommend printing resolution of 100 dpi.
